Home ChambésyHere’s a picture of the house and garden … From mid-1998 through mid-2001 we lived in Switzerland. More exactly in Pregny-Chambésy, a small 3’000 inhabitant village next to Geneva. The village borders the Lac Léman which is the biggest lake of Europe. The area is very residential. It was a pleasant and quiet neighborhood.

Mont Blanc and Lac Léman seen from ChambésyChambésy offers one of the best views of the Mont Blanc, at 4807m the highest mountain of Europe. But it was also very conveniently located. The children were less than 10 minutes from school by bus. We were 5 minutes drive from the Geneva International Airport, without really suffering from the noise pollution. We had a train stop, the last one before the Geneva central station (“Cornavin”). By car we were less than 10 minutes from downtown and the lake and about 15 minutes from the office.

We lived in a beautiful and spacious house with a 1’600 sqm yard. Large enough for the children to play in and for our dog Happy to run freely. The only downside of a garden this size was to try keeping it “Swiss perfect” …

Geneva’s central location was ideal for outings to places like Chamonix, Yvoir, Gruyere, etc.

Being this close to the Alps it was an excellent base to go skiing. The closest was the French Jura. It took us 25 minutes from our door to be up there and on the slopes. We spent quite a few weekend days up there.
