About Hakloot

I wanted to establish a blog that can capture my impressions of the world I live in. This will mostly relate to the places I visit. The inspiration for Hakloot, the blog name, comes from the Hakluyt Society.

It was founded in 1846 in the UK with the aim to advance the knowledge and education by the publication of scholarly editions of primary records of voyages, travels and other geographical material.

The Hakluyt Society is named after Richard Hakluyt (1552-1616), the celebrated collector and editor of narratives of voyages and travels and other documents relating to English interests overseas. His name was probably pronounced “Hack-loot”, an earlier member of the family having been recorded as an MP in 1304 under the name of Hakelute, rather than ‘Hackle-wit’, and the family being of Welsh extraction and not Dutch, as is sometimes supposed.

    Good day,

I was reading hansdewaele.com and really enjoyed the site, especially Wonderful Crete. My company Userp.biz specialises in PR for leading online entertainment sites and I would like to pitch an article in the hope that you would please consider sharing it as a potential feature.

The article will focus on what adventures lie around Southern Africa. The area is full of activities and offers a broad variety of experiences. While offering a full on African experience there are also world class facilities in this area of the world that surprises people visiting the region for the first time. Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Mozambique and South Africa also offer incredibly beautiful landscapes and are any photographers dream. Due to the dollar exchange rate in Southern Africa any adventure you take will also be relatively affordable, whether it be exploring Cape Town, wandering Etosha Pan, taking in the Victoria Falls or cruising the Mozambique islands. It would also reference the entertainment sector and will contain a citation to the Brand that we represent.

There would be no cost involved in this from my side. I would just like the chance to have this featured on a website.

Let me know what you think. If it sounds interesting I can get the article to you ASAP. We are also flexible to suggestions within the article should you wish to have any creative input.

Thanks very much for your time.
